Credit Portability

Credit Portability

Mar 1, 2025

The credit portability process permits a customer to transfer a credit agreement from one financial institution to another through Open Banking, enabling better payment terms and lower fees.

This is a complex project due to the set of rules that this process must follow, including issues involving deadlines, cancellations, banking agreements, and debt repayment between banks.

Furthermore, the launch of this feature was required to meet a deadline defined by the Central Bank.

EARLY DEVELOPMENT

From the outset, we established a pre-defined structure for the project. On the client side, it was divided into two distinct categories: customers who had already granted Open Banking permissions and those who had not.

DEFENSE

From the bank’s perspective, we had to create a “defense” journey. This meant that banks receiving requests for portability to another bank could defend themselves by submitting a new proposal to the client within a three-day timeframe.

RESEARCH

We were left with three distinct journeys to develop, each with its own unique characteristics. We submitted the prototype for research, where we gathered valuable user feedback.
